4 Unique Nautical Themes that Don’t Use Navy Blue

Just because you’re going for a nautical or ocean themed wedding doesn’t mean you have to stick to navy blue and white–it couldn’t be further from the truth. Unfortunately, when people hear “nautical wedding,” it’s often the very first thing their mind comes to.

Therefore I’ve compiled a list of several wedding themes that take a slightly different direction, but still retain the cool, breezy colors that will stay afloat in an oceanside wedding.

This Platinum & Aqua theme hits on all the perfect points for classy and nautical. Instead of resorting to a dark or bright blue, this theme adds that perfect touch of green to create an oceanic color that won’t remind you of a 50’s bathing suit.

Dusty blue and grey is another elegant theme that uses the subtle blues to present that aquatic feeling to an otherwise formal theme. If the aqua in Platinum & Aqua is too green for you, dusty blue is a great alternative that will still strike the same chord.

Coral and Aqua is just Platinum & Aqua but with that little something extra. If you think a two-tone theme just isn’t enough, consider adding coral. Adding this hint of pink will make your theme just a tad more feminine while retaining the nautical theme.

Seafoam and Viola, like the first two, is the counterpart of Coral and Aqua. Viola is a surprising choice, but becomes an obvious choice when paired against the other colors. If coral is a bit too flashy or feminine for you, viola makes a great alternative.
