Orange County Marriage Laws
Standard Marriage License
License is good for 90 days only
License becomes public record
Southern California no longer requires a blood test (as of January '95)
1 or 2 witnesses needed to sign at time of wedding
County clerk will furnish you with ceremonial license, which you may keep
Easy to obtain certified copy after wedding (additional fee charged)
License can be obtained from the county clerk's office
Marriage can be performed anywhere in the State of California

Marriage can only be performed in the county license was obtained in

When applying for a license at the county clerk's office, you must both be present and
verify your age (drivers license, certified birth certificate or passport). If you are
under 18 you must have parents' consent. Couples should know their mother's
maiden name and parents' place of birth (state or foreign country).
If previously married, the day, month, and year their own divorce became final.
Additional information will be given at the time you apply for your license.
The only courthouse in Orange County in which to apply for a license is in Santa Ana
