Disney to Release Frozen-Inspired Wedding Gown

Whether you are among the throngs who have joined the Frozen movie hysteria or you are among those who wish people could just let it go, Queen Elsa definitely affects us ladies. And Disney has heard us, loud and clear. Aside from its theme park ride, Disney Consumer Products is now teaming with famed designer Alfred Angelo to release – wait for it – the Elsa wedding dress. InStyle got the exclusive first look at the dress.

Alfred Angelo Chief Creative Officer, Michele Piccione, who designed the dress, told InStyle that “a character like Elsa is a huge inspiration for any designer. She is beautiful and elegant, and…she is ultimately not afraid to embrace who she is with confidence and poise. We wanted to translate Elsa’s inner beauty into a sophisticated gown that exudes this.”

The gown Piccione created is a softly flared ice-blue sheath with a sweetheart neckline, layers of tulle, organza, and satin. The dress is ornamented with a swirling pattern of beads, giving it a shimmering effect. A classic Watteau train draping from shoulders to floor adds the final touch to this regal gown, available January 2015 in both ivory and ice-blue.
