Planning a wedding, along with work, time with your spouse-to-be, and the rest that life throws at us can leave very little time for a full-time workout routine. Being at your fittest in order to fit into that all-important bridal gown can feel like an impossible feat. But if you learn just a few small tricks that take very little time, you can lose weight and be perfectly ready for your fairy tale day.
Plan your meals. Planning your wedding around the rest of your life means you need to put a little extra planning into what and when you will eat. That way, you will be able to avoid high fat drive-through options and high calorie vending machine snacks that will sabotage your efforts. Be sure you plan your meals choosing quick, healthy recipes, then head to the store. That way, everything will be on hand for you to put together when you are hungry. If you do eat out at a restaurant, divide your portion and take half home.
Make sure to never skip breakfast and plan ahead for quick-grab snacks. Breakfast jump starts your metabolism, and granola bars or small yogurt cups stave off the feeling of being so hungry that you are willing to grab the nearest, unhealthy thing to eat.
Get enough sleep. Getting enough rest not only reduces stress and makes your skin look good, but a lack of sleep can cause you to gain weight.
Do stay active. While a full-blown work out session may be out of the question, it is possible to sneak in mini-workouts. Always take the stairs rather than the elevator, park farther away from the door than necessary and walk, grab your sweetie and go for a moonlit stroll, or take 10 minutes, two to three times a day to do squats, lunges, or bicep curls.
Limit the cocktails. Between bridal showers, champagne brunches, nights on the town, or cuddly evenings with your Love discussing wedding plans, the calories consumed from alcoholic beverages can rise astronomically. Keep an eye on what you drink, trying to limit it to one drink a day, and choose wine over sugary cocktails.
Follow these simple tips and you will be amazed when the time time comes for your final fitting, and you rock your dress in all the right places!
