Get organized with your own wedding planning binder

Planning your wedding is one of the most fun parts of the whole wedding planning process—but let me be honest here. I’m not an organized and tidy person! Once I get too many good ideas in my head, many of them get lost in the chaos. Nothing would feel worse than, days before your wedding, realizing you forgot a crucial detail.

If you’re like me, then have I got a solution for you:

Your very own DIY Wedding Planning Binder.

It costs next to nothing to make, and you can even decorate it with the colors and themes you plan to use for your wedding!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1” binder
  • Sticky notes
  • Color-coded tabs
  • Colored, clear plastic page dividers
  • Colored pens
  • Highlighters (in several colors!)

For the dividers, you can go with whatever suits your plans, but here are some basic categories to get you started:

  1. Budget sheets and figures
  2. Guest info (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.)
  3. Invites
  4. Vendor info
  5. Ceremony
  6. Reception (music, seating, menus, etc.)
  7. Florist (pictures, business cards, etc.)
  8. Attire
  9. Photographer

Once you have your binder assembled, it’s time to sort your ideas. As you go along, you’ll see firsthand how your ideas begin taking shape. Don’t be afraid to add or remove categories if your plans call for it!

Here are some extra tips:

  • Keep your deadlines and appointments nearby! Print out a monthly calendar from online and insert it at the beginning of the binder.
  • Use stickers or washi tape to categorize similar or important ideas
  • Use transparent zip pouches to hold business cards.
