Fun, Easy Ways To Add Style And Color To Your Bridal Look

One of the first things any bride shops for is her bridal gown; the one dress that will transform her into the belle of the ball. Bridal accessories, however, are often not much more than a mere afterthought. But what you pair with your gown can not only make or break your bridal look, but can be the item that brings everything together and makes you stand out from among the rest.

Clutch.

A bold, bright or perhaps simple black clutch not only holds lipstick, Kleenex, and a copy of your vows, but makes a daring and stunning addition to your ceremony or reception attire.

Shoes.

For her wedding, my Maid of Honor wore red, glittery flats under her ballgown style dress. It was fabulous! Every time she danced or sat down, those shoes made everyone smile, and made her a fashionista! Sport fuchsia, red, canary yellow, or deep purple high heels and let your feet show your true style!

Hair accessories.

Bold, bright flowers or bows add flair to an up-swept ”do. Unlike the clutch and shoes, however, flowered accessories need a dress that is simple enough to carry them off. To rock this look, choose a simple A-line, form fitting, or sheath gown without many embellishments.

Jewelry.

Long, dramatic earrings stand out beautifully from an off-the-shoulder or strapless gown, and bold, heavier necklaces are stunning when paired with a bandeau style dress. Make sure to choose classic pieces, though. Turquoise, opal, jade, sapphire, emerald, or topaz are timeless choices.

Jackets, furs, sweaters.

Pairing a wrap with your bridal dress is a fun and flirty way to add color and flair to your look. The style of gown you are wearing will determine which of these coverings is the best choice. Choose a jacket with bold buttons, a wrap with silver piping, or a fur in a soft hue.

Gloves.

The long and short of it is that gloves of any length are glamorous. Choose softer colors such as barely-lavender, ultra-white, soft pink, silver, or butter yellow. One great thing about gloves is that they pair well with gowns that feature sequin or rhinestone embellishments or lots of tulle, as well as classically simple dresses.
